This scenario is made to simulate a search for a suspect in an open area or neighborhood. The dog will be sent from a position of cover to search for the suspect independently of the handler. As in real life, there will be "distractions" for the dog in the area that is to be searched. There will be several items on the field and the dog must locate the hidden suspect and indicate the find to his handler, who is unaware of the suspects location.

The team will be judged on the handler's tactics, the  dog's ability to search, find and

alert on the suspect and the handler's ability to direct his dog from a distance. Points will be deducted if the dog stops searching and redirects his activities toward the distractions or leaves the suspect once he alerts.

This is a timed event.
