HANDLER PROTECTION
Phase I & II: 200 Points
One of the primary duties of the police dog is locating people. Often times these people are extremely dangerous and pose a threat to the community and other officers on the street. Dogs are trained to protect their handlers and apprehend fleeing felons.
In this scenario, the team will confront two or more dangerous suspects. On of these suspects will give up and one will not. There will be gunfire during this scenario and one of the suspects will attack the handler.
The team will be judged on the handler's tactics, the handlers ability to control and redirect the dog, the ability to call off his/her dog and the dog's ability and courage to engage the suspect.
This event will be timed for the purpose of a tiebreaker only.
